Paul has been capturing photographs for over 30 years. Beginning as a hobby, Paul used a fully manual Nikon FM 35mm with a couple of lenses for many years for scenic and candid photography. He experimented with traditional darkroom developing and image manipulation. Over the last five years he has transitioned to digital, beginning with a 1 megapixel Sony before moving to a Nikon 5700 and most recently D70 and D200 DSLRs.
In 2004 Paul started a project to shoot portraits of all of his family members. During this project he was able to capture invaluable memories of two grandparents before they passed away. His portrait project has since expanded, using his small studio or the great outdoors as a backdrop.
Like the traditional darkroom, the digital darkroom opens many possibilities for photography. Paul also has a full digital video editing studio and continues his work in this area. Many times he is able to mix still photography with digital video images in dramatic, highly visual productions.
